Samuel has been teaching children and empowering the youth through Music, and Ocean Activities (including Song Writing Workshops, Surfing, Paddle Boarding, Meditation and Marine Conservation)

Samuel’s work with Children began when he was put in charge of organising school camps and activities at his surf school www.sennensurfcentre.com when he was just 19.

Since then Samuel has gone on to do some amazing things with Youth Around The World and thus developed his Young Elder project.

Highlights include

Creation of International Album that Built A School in Rio De Janeiro

Samuel has already single handedly fund-raised thousands of dollars with his own music efforts. His last album, the Brasil Live Project, was a musical collaborative album written and recorded by Samuel featuring some of the biggest names in Brazils music scene and dedicated entirely to child education.

Made An Ambassador Of Peace in Indonesia for his efforts with the youth.

Samuel has given many orphanages and underprivileged children across Indonesia the chance to perform with him on tour and the chance to participate in his creative writing workshops. The result of these concert presentations have led to an array of life changing infrastructural changes within the organisations from the consequent public engagement. In 2017 Samuel visited villages all over N Sulawesi sharing his plastic awareness videos with schools along the way.

Break Through Paddle

Samuel has taught Surf Therapy to hundreds of Children round the Globe with varying cultural backgrounds, as a means to empower young people to make positive changes in their lives.

Guatemala

In 2019 Samuel organized a series of concerts featuring children from across Guatemala. The concerts independently funded 1000/s of meals for Homeless Children through Christmas time with the GoodTree foundation.

“After seeing such intense poverty around Asia at 19 I made a promise that I would find a way to help underprivileged children through music….. The Young Elders concept is very simple but has proven really effective. When touring we simply reach out to local youth groups and schools asking if they would like to partake in a fun music workshop with us. The focus of these workshops is quite simply to remind children of the light they have inside them, and the importance of their voice.

Whether children are musical or not we create opportunities for every child to be able to be a part. One of the main ways we do this is offering children to share with the audience what it is they wish to see in their future, this honestly always steals the show with audiences round the world. For those children more musically inclined we go on to rehearse and develop full musical concert presentations with them.

Its proven an awesome experience for everyone. The audience then feels empowered to support the children and all kinds of positive ripples then play out, which benefit the lives of the children.”
